About a third of active-duty service members say they binge drink at least once a month, according to the Department of Defense 2011 Health Related Behavior Survey. That raises concern, particularly since the figure is higher than the civilian estimate of 27 percent. However, many interventions for alcohol use disorders are too intense to deal with occasional misuse.
