In recognition of Brain Injury Awareness Month this March, the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) will host a variety of events to promote greater awareness of how to prevent, recognize and treat traumatic brain injury (TBI) at 18 network sites. Additionally, DVBIC will support special events including Brain Injury Awareness Day on Capitol Hill.
“Our theme this year is ‘Think ahead: Be safe. Know the signs. Get help,’” said Army Col. Geoffrey Grammer, DVBIC national director. “We want people to know how to prevent concussions, how to recognize the signs and symptoms in case they sustain a concussion, and what to do if they experienced one.”
